Thank you Tom, already I have read whole topic and....I'm really sorry for you. I hope that you resolve as soon as possible. It's a really bad experience.

As things go, it's best to wait and see what happens. We all want to meet each other, we share the same passion, but it is good to be safe for all of us, otherwise it has no charm.
I wish you all the best
Lucian.

I have to point out that there are two fractions in the Forum: One that take the halves apart and one that doesn't. Don't want to go into details, with the search function you will find the threads
I tried to search on the forum but I couldn't find this subject. Please, you can help me with the link? I really want to read about this.
Thanks
Lucian.

May I inquire where you obtained the bolts for joining the two halves? Or did you reuse the old ones?
Also I'd be interested in the tightening torque you used.
I know it is recommended that the screws be changed but I used the old ones.
For the tightening torque, I don't have a manual but I search on the different forums and I found a recommendations for the 75 Nm.
Until now, it's not a sign of leaks from none of the 4 brake calipers.
I'm not a professional mechanic, there are still many things that I do not understand, but I like to get involved until I get blocked .... and then I spend hours looking for answers on the net.
Thanks
Lucian

Hello Lucian,
also very warm welcome, we are (in normal times) visiting northern Italy frequently with the W123 cars! (mine is orient red, paint is also not perfect, but I like it as it is!)
The orange number plate is supercool
Kind regards
Timo / Bavaria
Thank you Timo, sometimes I see groups of cars with numbers from Germany in the area, as in these pictures.

And of course, the brakes were 100% rebuilt.

I also did everything I could with small pieces, each screw and bracket was cleaned and cold-painted zinc.

This point was the most rusted, but only superficial rust, I don't welded nothing on the car. Only work to stop rust and conservation.
I am sorry to put screenshots but the pictures are too big and I do not know how to proceed . I apologize for the poor English I speak.

Pssst... I shouldn't really say it but it looks to me as if a bulb needs replacing in the left rear light...

Eagle eyes already changed, the car is in my possession for 5 years...
Thanks Christoph, I will look on the site.
Once arrived at home, I started to read and learn about this kind of engine, even if on that point what I knew about gasoline engines ... is that they have spark plugs ... For two weeks I couldn't remember the term "k-jetronic"... but after I changed all consumables that could influence the proper functioning of the engine, this turn to work in factory standards.
The biggest problem (in my opinion) which a old car can have, is the rust
... the rust...and the rust... for that, I decided to stop in time all superficial rust, even if there weren't many. The whole thing was done in an 18m² garage, by a passionate amateur...(I accept criticism, opinions and advice, for me are constructive).

Ok then, the story of this passion it started in a period of my life, in which many things changed at once and I probably needed something that would distract me from the shock I received at the age of 30, when a wonderful child, a home and many other responsibilities appeared in my life. I had to find something to do closer to home....and so, one evening I saw this coupe on the net and called, I scheduled a visit. The next day I was 150km away where I admired this car, while the owner, a newly retired teacher told me his plans of his free time and how dedicate it to his first love, an Alfa Romeo giulietta... So, after an hour I was on the freeway at the wheel of a Mercedes W123 coupe, smiling...

Thank you. For the paint...it's not hurry, the car stays always in the garage and is driven only in good weather. I will try to se if the original paint can be saved but on the top even the colour is not at maximum, thanks for the advice.
I done some work under the car, if someone want to see, I can post some photo's (maybe this area it's not for that, I don't want to violate the rules of the forum).
Greetings, Lucian.

Ahhh, ok, clear laquer shedding.... The colour is nice. I also like the hubcaps (as in no alloys).
Thank you Insulaner, I like to the hubcaps more than alloys wheel. I have the original Barock 14" alloys but I keep in the garage... I have also 3 pieces of 15" hubcaps ( I don't know why....maybe because I founded on a good price...if that's a good excuse 😁) and I hope to find another one.
Hello Peter, nice to meet you again, we know each other from stelecadenti.it .

I hope the situation goes back to normal soon...
Kind regards,
FabianI hope so. It's a very difficult time, but everything will be fine.
Tutto andrà bene. 🌈

Hello Tom, I'm near Garda Lake. In the summer, I trip the area, but for that landscape I prefer my Audi 89 Cabriolet...
Usually I see a lot of old Mercedes with the German license plate in my zone. If someone needs help (for the small things), I can offer my support. Five years ago I discovered my passion for the "old stars" and from there, I always learn and discover more beautiful things about the real engineering world of real cars.
I have a little normal garage where I try to resolve the problem of "my precious". Until now, I succeeded to get my M110 engine on the factory standards. It's an old lady witch offer me a big smile, every time when I get on the steering wheel. It's that simple...
